Merriam-Websters Dictionary
We all protect that which is precious to us. This is evident in nature, a mom protecting her young, or an alpha male protecting his territory. As humans, we carry this a step further, to include protecting our ideals and values.
When Vera contacted me during Dr. Boyd's health crisis, I felt an immediate sense of a need to protect the integrity and essence of Bio Cranial. That is what the Board of Regents was charged to do. I was thrilled to see the selfless response of each of the other Board members rallying around Vera and Bob.
As important, CDS Institute as a group, and each of its individual players, has demonstrated that same protectiveness. They value the intellectual property and wish to insure the practical application remains pristine.
As Dr. Hays so eloquently delineated last month, great strides have been made, and every effort is being carried out to continue to develop a first class organization. Our protective natures are always a component of our decision making.
On another note, last weekend I was at a continuing education seminar - 15 hours of seat time for license renewal. There were 52 doctors in attendance. Five of us were Bio Cranial practitioners. I was honored to be asked to treat each of the other four, and privileged to receive one as well. One of the practitioners was also from Colorado, one from Texas, one from Virginia, and one from Canada.
It was special to be part of a select sub-group, and I thoroughly enjoyed the camaraderie. Has anyone else noticed how friendly and unselfish our practitioners are? I had quite an interesting conversation with one of these five folks. She had dropped out of the organization for over a year, unsure of the direction Bio Cranial was headed. She continues to use Bio Cranial effectively in her practice, and was thrilled to have me critique her technique.
A simple suggestion allowed her to make a change which immediately felt more comfortable for her, and her confidence soared. I am sure she will be even more effective for her patients now. Basically, this was an impromptu mini CPD. What a great way to spend our breaks!
By the end of the two days, she was ready to accept that CDS is a strong, viable organization, moving forward with the vision of Dr. Boyd, and staying true to his teachings. She is planning on signing back up, becoming a dues paying member once again.
I was also intrigued to watch and listen to the other Practitioners. All three have wonderful stories of success, each unique in its own way. The experience, wisdom and knowledge all four of them shared was enlightening. Only a select few of us have been given the wonderful opportunity to share our stories with you, our thoughts, hopes and dreams through this journal. It is time to expand our talent pool.
All of you Bio Cranial practitioners are unique in your own way, and it is time for you to share with the rest of us. I invite you to put together your own testimonials, or an article about something special to you, and send it to us. Articles of a technical nature would also be great, sharing your expertise with us all.
Any time I am with other practitioners I always learn something. I look forward to learning from all of you on a monthly basis. In advance, thank you for sharing. Thank you for helping us protect and nurture our relationships individually and as a whole, and to carry forward the vision of Dr. Boyd. The intentions of the Board of Regents is for Bio Cranial, philosophy and integrity to be the contributions that our organization shares with our world and may we all find a bit of stillness to contemplate the more meaningful aspects of our lives every day. |
